At École Crane, maintaining strong partnerships with parents and with the wider community is a major priority. These partnerships are essential because they are closely linked with student academic achievement. “The evidence is consistent, positive and convincing: families have a major influence on their children’s achievement. When schools, families and community groups work together to support learning, children tend to do better in school, stay in school longer and like school more.” When families and communities are involved in supporting schools, public support for schools is built, schools are helped to overcome the challenges they face and students flourish.
