Student Services
At Pacific Junction School, we believe that the student, the parents/guardians and the classroom teacher are at the centre of a child's learning. Our Student Support Service teams are extended circles of support so that all students reach their academic potential in a safe, caring and engaging environment. They collaborate with classroom teachers to provide programming that meets the academic, social, and emotional needs of all of our students.
Our In-School Team
On our Pacific Junction staff, we have a resource teacher, an inquiry teacher and a Reading Recovery teacher. Our resource teacher works closely with the classroom teachers and the principal to support student learning and needs. They provide one-on-one, small group and full class support. There is also a Reading Recovery teacher who works with selected early years students as an intensive reading intervention.
Our Divisional Team
Our in-school team works closely with divisional professionals to support our students and their families. We may access the services of a school psychologist, speech and language therapist, social worker, occupational therapist, physiotherapist and a behaviour and learning support teacher. These professionals may be used for consultation or direct services as determined by the in-school and divisional student support team.
