Child Care

A number of our schools have childcare centers on site. While we do share a learning space, day cares are not operated by Pembina Trails but by separate organizations.

It is important to note that schools in Manitoba are not permitted to operate childcare centers.

Families with children who are not yet school-aged can visit the Government of Manitoba website for help in finding a space.

The YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg is proud to be the largest child care provider in Manitoba, operating school age child care programming at more than 30 sites within Winnipeg and the surrounding communities.  Our school-age child care programs follow the YMCA - A Place to Connect curriculum which focuses on play-based learning. Research shows that children shine brightest in programs that are structured to let them shape the program. This means providing choice, opportunities for leadership, a focus on strengths, and a place to naturally develop the skills and relationships to ignite their potential.
