CLUBS, SPORTS TEAMS, INTRAMURALS, ACTIVITIES

Extracurricular activities such as athletics, music, drama and clubs are a valuable component of a well-rounded Middle Years education. Students who participate in extracurricular activities have a heightened and enriched learning experience that allows them to contribute to school culture and community on many different levels. HGI believes that athletic opportunities allow student athletes to develop and grow in areas such as teamwork, critical thinking, responsibility and leadership. Participation in athletics also contributes to the overall physical, emotional and social well-being of students. Go Wolves!

Communication

Please check the HGI website and the HGI Athletic Calendar on a regular basis.  All games, tournaments and practices will be posted online. 

Please find below a list of the athletic opportunities offered at HGI Middle School.

Cross Country (All grades)	September - October
Volleyball (Grade 6 - 9)	September - November
Indoor Track (All grades)	October - March
Basketball (Grade 6 - 9)	December - March
Badminton (Grade 7 - 9)	March - May
Outdoor Track	April - June
Soccer	May - June

SPORTS REGISTRATION FEES

Registration fees include some or all of the following but are not limited to: league & transportation fees, uniform & equipment costs, facility rentals, and transportation fees: 

Minor Sports – $15 registration fee
Major Sports – $40 registration fee (unless otherwise specified by coach)

Season specific information will be distributed at the player/parent meeting at the beginning of major sport seasons.  Information letters will be distributed for minor sports outlining the expectations and requirements of athletes.
