Arts Education

Within the Manitoba provincial curriculum, there are four areas of artistic growth that the province provides curriculum frameworks for: dance, drama, music and visual arts. Oakenwald School provides regular scheduled time for, and lessons in, two of these four areas: music and visual arts.

Visual arts lessons are provided by classroom teachers. Sometimes, art lessons are embedded within other subject areas. At other times, specific stand-alone lessons are provided in visual arts techniques at age-appropriate levels.
