Orff Music
The Orff approach allows children to experience music through singing, movement, speech, rhythm, improvisation and playing instruments (such as xylophones, recorders and other percussion instruments). Lessons are presented with an element of "play", helping the children learn at their own level of understanding.
At Oakenwald School, our music teacher provides engaging music lessons for kindergarten through grade 6 students using the Orff approach. A school-wide concert showcases students' talents once a year, typically during the winter months. In addition, students have opportunities to participate in school choirs and Orff clubs which perform both in the school and community.
