Award Amount: Two Scholarships worth $750.00 each
Who can apply?
- A grade 12 or returning university student from Manitoba who is pursuing a career directly related to working with persons with exceptionalities. The individuals must be entering or in a current fulltime education program in a Canadian post-secondary institution.
What will I have to do?
- Complete an application form
- A current resume
- Complete an Essay
- Hand in two Reference letters
- Complete academic record
- Complete the online application form
- Write an essay on the following topic: Explain the difference between cross-connection and backflow, then identify five high hazard cross-connections in your community and how to resolve them.
- The essay must be 3-5 pages in length, typed in 12-point font and double-spaced
- Take the Canadian Citizenship Challenge and prove the statement “I Am Canadian”
- The challenge is comprised of twenty timed questions related to Canadian citizenship
- Applicants who get 100% on the challenge will be entered into the prize draw

The ABPA Harrington-Arthur Memorial Scholarship

Steam Awards
Deadline: January
Amount: $25,000
Who can apply?
To be eligible you must…
- Be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada by the application deadline;
- Be 16 to 18 years of age by the application deadline;
- Have been recognized for accomplishments in a formal capacity (e.g., selected as a winner or participant of a science fair, patent application, conference presentation) or less formal capacity (e.g., founding a coding club, developing a course for kids, creating an interactive art installation, volunteer work, community outreach);
- Have obtained, over the previous year of study, an academic average of 80% or higher;
- Be preparing to enroll in the fall for your first year of post-secondary education (university, college or CÉGEP) in a STEAM field at a Canadian institution.

- Submit letters of support & transcripts
