CSE - Safe Work Procedure
Safe work procedures for entrance into Pembina Trails crawl spaces vary with the types of hazards that are present in each location. Each crawl space has been assessed for hazards and given a rating of restricted space, confined space or a high hazard confined space depending on the hazards present. For example a restricted space is a space that has a door for entry, has a relatively high ceiling space so that the worker can stand straight or slightly bent, may be ventilated and has very few to no physical hazards. A high hazard confined space is a space that is known to have dangerous atmospheric hazards, restricted access and severe physical hazards. All high hazard confined spaces at Pembina Trails have restricted access for staff and may only be entered by contractors with confined space entry and rescue training.
