École South Pointe School student wins first place in science spelling bee
Congratulations to Seunara Oyeleye, a grade six student from École South Pointe School, who recently finished in first place in the Junior Category of the 2024 Spelbec-Science Spelling Bee at the University of Manitoba.
This was a competitive event, with students from Grades 5-8 representing various schools and divisions, including private institutions. Seunara’s achievement not only showcases his dedication but also highlights the supportive environment École South Pointe School provides to foster excellence.
In recognition of École South Pointe School's commitment to developing future scientists, the Dr. Fowke Viral Immunology Laboratory at the University of Manitoba’s Department of Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (https://www.fowkelab.com/) will be donating laboratory equipment to École South Pointe School. It is hoped this gesture will further encourage students to explore and enjoy scientific learning.
Well done Seunara!
